Global ethanol production expected to increase 16.2 percent in 2010 to 22.7 billion gallons

22/03/10 – In Canada, the Global Renewable Fuels Alliance predicted that global ethanol production will reach 22.72 billion gallons (85.9 billion liters) in 2010, up 16.2 percent from 2009. The United States is expected to produce slightly more than half the world´s ethanol, with 11.9 billion gallons (45 billion liters).
The GRFA also said that it expects the first commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol production to commence in three countries during 2010.
